Lorrie Tidwell (Coach Ice), Seattle Director of Girls Divisions
Lorrie “Ice” Tidwell was a high school standout at Juanita High School. She averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds 6 steals and 3.7 assists a game as a Juanita Rebel. Ice was named First Team WIAA her senior year. After graduating from Juanita, Ice had a full ride basketball scholarship to the University of Georgia, but did not qualify due to not passing the SAT. As a Proposition 48 athlete, Ice then committed to Shoreline Community College where she dominated, yet again breaking every scoring record. She averaged 22.3 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists per game, with a career high of 36 points. Ice was First Team All NWAAC her Freshman and Sophomore year at Shoreline. Ice then went on to play her final 2 seasons at Gonzaga but left after the first year in 1991. Ice returned to college not as an student athlete but as a student and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Science.

Ice has worked in youth sports for 23 years. Her father, Rudy Thomas played for the Harlem Globetrotters and has been training young athletes in basketball for over 40 years! Ice founded J.U.S.T. I.C.E. Basketball Academy in 2005 (Jump Up Stand Tall In Children's Eyes). She had over 200 athletes in her program at one point and time. Ice will be running our girls division at BDA. She brings an incredible pedigree of basketball knowledge to us, and we are truly blessed to have her!"
